Why a Custom Stock?

A custom stock won’t help you break targets that you have yet to develop the skill and/or technique for shooting. However it will help you break more of the targets that you do know how to shoot. If you look at the scores of any major tournament, the difference between finishing 1^st in your class and 5^th (or lower) in your class is often just a few targets.

I have seen different studies on this, but one of the most conservative studies advises that an adjustment of just 1/16” will move your point of impact by at least 3” at 40 yards. So if you are shooting a stock that doesn’t fit you perfectly, you are handicapping yourself on targets you should be able to break.

Shooters are always going to fight the targets they shoot. If their gunstock does not fit perfectly, they will fight the gun and the target. A properly fitted custom gunstock will take fighting the gunstock out of play, and they can just concentrate on watching and breaking the target.
